Why we built FiberNear
Shopping for internet is needlessly confusing. Provider coverage maps disagree, “available in your area” rarely means available at your home, and comparing plans means bouncing between a dozen sites. FiberNear cuts through that. You enter your address once, and we do the legwork of matching it against the fiber and high-speed networks that reach your location.
Who writes FiberNear
FiberNear is edited by Jared Winger, who builds and operates independent comparison and lead-generation websites. He is responsible for FiberNear’s data sourcing, its editorial standards, and the decision to publish only figures that trace back to a named public source.

Where our numbers come from
Every coverage percentage on FiberNear is derived from the FCC Broadband Data Collection, residential fixed broadband, as of December 31, 2025. Those figures are advertised availability that providers self-report to the FCC — they are not measured speeds, and they are not a guarantee for any individual address. Address resolution uses the US Census Geocoder and the FCC’s census-block API.
Two things we deliberately do not publish. We do not list prices, because we hold no first-party pricing data and a stale price is worse than none. And we do not publish star ratings, because we have no first-party review data and inventing it would make every other number on the site less trustworthy.
One limit worth stating plainly: the FCC’s public summary files report how much fiber reaches a city, but not which brand it belongs to. So where we list the providers operating in a market, that is our own editorial assessment rather than an FCC figure, and we say so on the page.
How we make money
FiberNear is free for you to use. When you choose to move forward with a provider, we may be compensated by that provider or through partner programs. That compensation never changes what we show you — our job is to surface the options that genuinely serve your address, not to push any one brand.

FiberNear is an independent comparison and referral service. We are not an internet service provider, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any carrier. We don’t install service or set pricing. Availability, speeds, and pricing are determined and confirmed by the providers themselves.
