Fiber in Phoenix: where each network is building

Most of gFiber's construction in the Phoenix area is in the East Valley, not inside Phoenix city limits. Keep that in mind when you compare internet providers in Phoenix. A company can be active in the metro and still not reach your street.

Google Fiber, now called gFiber, turned on its first Arizona customers in Mesa on March 30, 2023. Chandler followed. In February 2026, Queen Creek became the third Valley community with service. Construction in Tempe began in June 2025. Phoenix approved a Google Fiber license in September 2015, but a February 2026 KTAR report named Mesa, Chandler and Queen Creek as the only metro Phoenix areas with service.

Quantum Fiber changed owners this year. On February 2, 2026, AT&T completed its purchase of Lumen's consumer fiber business, including Quantum Fiber. Lumen kept its copper-based consumer service. AT&T said it would raise its Arizona fiber build plans by 50% this year, naming Phoenix and Tucson. AT&T Fiber and Quantum Fiber now belong to the same company.
