Look at the service name in your result first. AT&T Internet Air is wireless home internet delivered over AT&T's 5G network. AT&T Fiber reaches the home over fiber optic cable. They are different connections, so an AT&T result is not automatically a fiber result. To weigh the two, see AT&T Internet Air vs AT&T Fiber.
AT&T says its fiber expansion is ongoing and that deployment timing depends on resources, local permitting, access to property or community, and environmental factors. None of that gives you a date for your home, so don't plan a move or a switch around a general expansion announcement.

How to read an AT&T Fiber availability map
AT&T describes its fiber coverage map as showing metros with AT&T Fiber availability for home internet. A metro on that map is a starting point, not an answer for your street. AT&T points you to its address checker to see the plans offered at a specific home, and it says availability can depend on network buildout, building wiring and the infrastructure serving that property.
The FCC National Broadband Map gives you a second view. Search your address and the fixed broadband results list the providers that report service there, the technology each one uses, and the maximum advertised download and upload speeds. You can filter by technology, including fiber, and show only residential locations.
- Read the provider and the technology together. An AT&T listing means fiber only when the technology shown is fiber.
- Treat the speeds as advertised availability. The FCC says the map shows availability, not network performance.
- If AT&T will not sell you the fiber service the map shows for your home, you can file an availability challenge from the map.
